Sunday, April 18th, 2010Just a quick post showing a couple of quick Hama bead pixel art characters I recently created. The first lot is my own atombat pixelated in Hama beads. The second is Chuck D. Head from Sega’s Decap Attack. Sega’s Western release of Magical Hat flying turbo adventure gave someone the idea to re-design the principle character into a more grotesque gothic horror hero, and I’m really glad they did. great character really enjoyed making this, as the beads are pretty much spot on colour wise. Just a pity I flipped the board whilst creating it last night, scattering most of the beads, setting me back an hour or 2 aaaaaaaaargh!! The final looks like it was worth it, now back to my real work. Hi Mister Vergeer if your reading this, more great Hama bead characters still to come.
UPDATE 21/07/2010
Just found out that some of my pictures are looking a bit murky on other peoples computers, so I’m replacing them with better looking ones taken from my scanner, thanks Anna

The Sinclair Spectrum 8 Bit Buzz Bot. This mean little Retro Robot design is going to made into a vectorized T-Shirt design, like the other pixel art robots I’ve created over the past few years. This is my final design for the 30 characters in 30 days. It’s been fun thanks for all the support. You guys have some fantastic concepts and ideas.

GARBOT The Green Amber Red robot. A Traffic light robot gone insane. His programming is malfunctioning, so he runs around the place, as he shouts STOP…! GO….! erm…? STOP…! Just one of my many bizarre Pixel art robot creations.
This is an enlarged version of GARBOT’s pixel art and pixel animation.
T-shirt with GARBOT’s design are available here:

Astro Blaster Pixel art Animation and designs.
Sunday, November 1st, 2009My very first Computer game, and the absolute pinnacle of Vacuum fluorescent display Graphics (well for a 3 – 6 year old at the time) This was the handheld/tabletop version of Scramble, a classic horizontal shoot ‘em up/shmup that spawned a whole generation and Genre of left to right Astro Blasting action games. I drew this animation a while ago but I thought it was time to upload the Pixel art design to my online shops. This animation is a small example of the gameplay. I always loved the music and the in game sound effects. A really fun game for its time, all the way back in 1981/2/3/????
