DOOOOOOOM....!

This was one of my very first Home Computers games. Petals of Doom on the Commodore C16 (Boo..!) Yeah, I know the C16 sucks, but this Dropzone/Defender clone is actually quite fun (Fun, what, on a Commodore C16?) Yes, this is one of the very few arcade games that I owned back in the day, 1987-88′ish. You control a Jetpack powered Space Gardener (Im not kidding) whose job it is to protect the flower plantation as it reaches maturity, only then will the energy curtains disappear (I’m not making this up, it’s on the game cover notes), so you can progress to the next level. But that is not all, no, trapped with you inside the “Eerie Space Cavern”  are PLANT HATING BUGS, yes, they are anti plant millitants…? Seriously, they hate your plantation and destroy your greens at every opportunity, so it’s up to you, to go on an intergalactic bug hunt, as you fly around blasting them with your laser. There is no in-game music, the sound effects are pretty good, the gameplay and animation are above average. I’d recommend this above most C16 games. I’ve included the cool game cover art above. Donkey Kong's dental problems before phoning NHS direct?

I recently purchased this Texas Instruments Ti99/4A cartridge from a well known auction site. Love the cover art. As far as I am aware the game has nothing to do with Donkey Kong, but I can’t test it out as my Ti994A doesn’t work

The manual Introduction states that:

You are an explorer searching for riches on the legendary Treasure Island. Ruby lamps and golden crowns lie within reach. Suddenly the island begins to sink! Your only chance for survival is to climb to the top of the island before it’s too late, grabbing as many treasures as you can along the way. But beware! Monsters and gorillas, falling boulders, and poisonous skulls are a constant threat. Every step could be your last in this exciting one player game of narrow escapes and sudden danger.

Kirk and Spock seem to have contracted chronic space jaundice

I recently bought this Dragon32 Star Trek cassette game (what looks like the Motion Picture judging by the uniforms) by Salamander Software. Made in 1982, It has the most amazingly bad artwork, so bad, it’s awesome. Kirk and Spock have been painted a lurid and rather sickly yellow jaundice skin tone, or is this what happens after kidney failure, due to too much Romulan ale?

Also, why is there Popcorn springing forth from James T, Is Captain Kirk a Corn Kob? This would explain the colour.

I don’t own a Dragon 32 yet, but this game is at the top of my playlist.

Threatened by niceandgames Mental Ti99/4a, my Commodore C64 has recruited his own personal security, A Tough MB Vectrex Thug (Hired Goon), Ha my Commodore C64 is not so scared now, well perhaps he is a little scared of the Vectrex, he is rather intimidating, being a gang member, he demands money up front, My C64 is now in a worse state, he thought this would solve his paranoia. Anyway the Music is by me, I did it over the last 2 days, it’s a sid rendition of Jingle bells, (I created it using Ableton Live7 and some plugins, cause my C64, is staying out of the way of the Vectrex…. the pussy). hope you enjoy.
